With Love , From College

I am a very regular student at college . Attending most of the classes and practicals , i was expecting a attendance of around 50% with ease . No one in my batch every realized that the final attendance would be put up on the notice board one day and all those who would be short on attendance would be detained from the End Semester Examinations .

One day there was a sudden buzz in the college that the attendance list has been put up . Seeing my name there with a meager 48% was astonishing . And more astonishing (rather relieving )was that there were only 4 people above the 75% minimum attendance mark . This was not the usual site but we all took it lightly.

Next week it was heard that notification letters from college has started reaching homes . Every one was scared . Some guys had bribed their security guards to keep the letter to them selves and not allow the courier man to enter the house ! ( yes .. this time college was sending letters via couriers ). Most of my friends were scared on the parents reaction when they happen to see the letters , more than the risk of not being allowed to sit in the exam ! . All the ‘Bunkers’ , ‘Ashiqs’ , ‘TT players’ , ‘Football dudes’ , ‘ Late morning risers” (like me !) would now be hung at their homes .

Finally i also received the dreadful Letter of ‘appreciation ‘ . The letter is self evident . I am short on attendance , way below the 50% mark . Its not only me who has this hair line attendance , I have 35 guys below me (ohh yes.. i have counted them all). I was having a sound afternoon sleep when the delivery boy rung the bell. Dad opened the door and was handed the same bloody letter .

When i got up i was ‘informed ‘ (yeah just informed !!) about it and was ‘told ‘ to be more careful next time . Dad had already warned me that i would be short on attendance some months back , when i started missing college without any valid reason . In reply i used to say ” college main kuch hota to hai nahi.. iss se better ghar pe he apni neend poori kar lun ” .

But now this has payed its dues and it quiet possible that I wouldn’t be allowed to sit for the End term examinations ! . The news from internal sources is that no one is detained this time and all are safe . But till the time i see the detainee list my self , i wouldn’t get a sound sleep , or unless ‘she‘ comes in my dreams !! . The only consolation i have is that i have 35 odd people below me , and these many students can NEVER be detained . !

Lets hope all is well at the end . I really promise to attend more lectures next semester the promise i make every time and catch up all my “dreamy needs” in the class itself rather than at home !

Suna hai end main sab thek ho jata hai.. aur agar sab thek na ho to samajhna ke kahanoi abhi khatam nahi hue … Picture abhi baki hai mere dost !!
